Description

Glutacef is typically a combination of Glutathione (a powerful antioxidant) and Ceftriaxone (a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic). The Ceftriaxone component works to kill bacteria by destroying their cell walls, treating infections like pneumonia, meningitis, and sepsis. The addition of Glutathione is often intended to protect the body’s cells from “oxidative stress” and damage caused by the infection or the treatment itself, effectively acting as a “cell protector.”

While Ceftriaxone is a standard, highly effective antibiotic, the combination with Glutathione is sometimes used in specialized clinical settings to support the patient’s overall recovery and detoxification. It is administered via IV or IM injection. Like all cephalosporins, it should not be used if a patient has a severe allergy to penicillin. Side effects can include diarrhea or pain at the injection site. This combination is often chosen to provide a “double benefit” of clearing the infection while supporting the body’s natural defenses.
