Aminosys SN and Aminos Injections are “Parental Nutrition” products. They contain a concentrated mixture of essential and non-essential amino acids (the building blocks of protein). These are used for patients who cannot eat or digest food normally—perhaps due to a coma, severe intestinal disease, or after major abdominal surgery. Instead of the patient eating protein, these injections deliver the protein building blocks directly into the bloodstream to prevent muscle wasting and support healing.

These injections are vital for “Total Parenteral Nutrition” (TPN). They help the body repair tissues, maintain a healthy immune system, and produce enzymes and hormones. Because they are very concentrated, they are usually infused slowly through a large vein. Doctors must carefully balance these with fats and sugars (glucose) to ensure the patient gets a complete “liquid diet” via IV. Side effects are rare but can include changes in blood electrolyte levels, so regular blood monitoring is a standard part of the treatment.
